INTERMEDIATE YOUTH FENCING

This page offers details about the Intermediate Youth Fencing Program for 2024-2025. Fall classes kick off Thursday September 5th. Please review this information - THEN CLICK TO REGISTER. gROUP cLASSES

Fencers are invited to move to this level by the coaches once they have gained sufficient skills.  These classes meet twice a week for 90-minutes each.  We also have optional open fencing on Saturday mornings, at no additional cost.

Intermediate Youth Foil   Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:45-7:15pm

Intermediate Youth Epee: Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:45-7:15pm

AND then after Intermediates….its’ on to the Competitive Levels!

cOSTS iNVOLVED

1.  Vivo Ltd. Annual Club Membership of $175 – due at registration.  This amount is prorated for any new Intermediates as we advance through the 10-month season.  All fencers beyond Beginners pay a club membership.

2.  Monthly group classes using automatic payments of $250 charged at the beginning of each active month (September – June.)

3.   OPTIONAL 1-1 private lessons.  Private lessons are 20 minutes long.  Individual private lessons are $50. Times are coordinated directly with the coaches.  We sell packages that are also charged at the beginning of each month. 

·  Silver package – 1 private lessons a week – so, one every other week adds $200/month - sign up under private lessons

·  Gold package – 2 private lessons a week weekly private lessons adds $400/month

 

USA Fencing Association access membership is REQUIRED. 

Access Membership is $29, August – July.  

We sign up the beginners – but once you are an Intermediate – it’s your responsibility to renew.  Some of you who started at the end of last season have been grandfathered.  If your membership expires in 2023 – you are ALL SET.  Search for your number, sign in (use forgot password if you don’t have one!)  and renew your membership directly at https://member.usafencing.org/search/members

Equipment PACKAGES 

Now that your fencer has completed beginning fencing, there is an equipment requirement.  We have most of the equipment at the club and can outfit your fencer with the right size.  We will charge you upon delivery

Intermediate Package::  Mask, glove, underarm protector, plastic chest plate and body cord/foil or epee and a fencing bag $325. total

We will continue to lend you a jacket. IF you would like a “full kit” with jacket, knickers and socks - do let us know.

JUMP ROPE AND SHOES

We’d like all of the Intermediates to come with a jump rope in their bag. You can choose which one!

PLUS Indoor court shoes. They are the BEST for fencing and mean that everyone’s feet are protected and ready for their best fencing moves. We prefer WHITE with stripes vs. dark colors, if possible. Here are some examples:

ASICS Upcourt 5 Grade School /Men/Ladies Yolleyball Shoes

ASICS Gel Rocket 9 or 10 are also good.
